Zukiswa Joyi, a 37-year-old South African woman who has publicly shared her commitment to sexual purity, has gotten married. The church wedding took place on Saturday, October 3, 2026, following a Lobola ceremony held on March 28. In a Facebook post after the church wedding, Joyi expressed gratitude to God for sustaining her when she felt tired, and said the long wait had been worthwhile. "Hitched for life. Jesus has done this. Answered Prayer. He truly Honors those who honor him. The wait was all worth it," she wrote. Joyi said she felt weary at times but credited her faith with giving her strength, noting that she married as a virgin at the age of 37. "I felt weary, but he strengthened me. Got married a virgin at the age of 37, it's only possible because of the Spirit of God, but it's possible," she said. She went on to say that virginity and purity remain attainable, and urged others not to accept what she described as the enemy's lie. She also spoke about grace, saying the same grace that restores a person after a fall can also keep a person from falling. "Virginity is possible, purity is possible. We don't have to accept the Lie of the enemy. The same grace that restores one when they fall is the same grace that can redeem one from falling. Lord we are grateful," she wrote. Her post carried the hashtags #OfficiallyMrsJili and #OfficiallyAWife. Joyi has been known over the years for openly discussing her journey of sexual purity. Her wedding marks the culmination of that journey, which she has framed as a matter of faith.
