Mutilated Body of Abducted Woman Found in Rivers State Community

A suspected spiritualist has killed an unidentified woman and harvested her body parts, which were then dumped in a river in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State, according to reports. Residents said the woman was abducted from Ahoada Minta in Ahoada East Local Government Area and taken to Ogoda community in the neighbouring Ahoada West Local Government Area, where her remains were allegedly harvested and thrown into the river. Chief Obutu Tom, the traditional ruler of Ogoda community, confirmed the incident to journalists. He said he first received information about it while in Port Harcourt, cut short his stay, and immediately reported the matter to the police. Tom said it took days of coordination by the village leadership, the police, and the local government authority before the body was eventually recovered. He recounted that on 12 September, while in Port Harcourt, he received the first phone call informing him that about five boys had conspired and abducted a girl from Ahoada Minta in Ahoada East to Ogoda community. According to him, the girl was killed, her breasts were removed, her genital area was removed, and her heart was taken. The body was then dropped in a stream very close to the village. Tom said that after he entered the community and carried out a preliminary investigation, he decided he could not allow such an act in his area. He said he did what was necessary and gave his report to the police. On 19 September 2026, he said, security personnel, the Ahoada East chairman, the Ahoada West chairman, and other prominent people moved to Ogoda community. They entered the swamp and finally recovered the corpse floating on the water. Eugene Epelle, chairman of Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State, also confirmed the incident and assured residents that all those involved in the killing of the young woman would be brought to justice.
