A Nigerian driver who operates on Bolt and inDrive has drawn widespread attention online after a video surfaced of a prayer he recites before beginning his workday. In the clip, he asks God for protection, a productive day and enough income to cover his children's school fees while supporting his wife and children.
He also requests higher fares, naming Lagos routes and locations where he hopes drivers will earn more, among them Sango-Tedo, Lekki, the airport and Ikeja. The driver voices concern about increasing fuel prices and asks God not to place that burden solely on drivers. He further prays that Nigerians will protest and take back the nation from its leaders.
The driver then directs his prayer toward passengers who request rides and later cancel them. He asks God to punish such customers and, in a joking manner, calls for thunder to strike anyone who cancels a trip valued at ₦1,400.
The video has been shared widely online.
